Change of classes for April 2016

Hi all,

As some of you know, Passover, a Jewish holiday, is around the corner and starts on Friday night, 22 April, and will go for 8 nights till Saturday 30 April.

Judokan runs its classes in the South Caulfield Hebrew Congregation hall, and therefore, cannot operate during the actual holy days (Yom-Tov).

For this reason, we are forced to change the classes for the next 2 Thursdays (21 & 28 Apr) to the Wednesday before (20 & 27 Apr respectively).

The class changes are:

Age Wednesday 20 Apr Wednesday 27 Apr
Under 9y.o 5:30pm 6pm
Over 9y.o 6:30pm 7pm

Sorry for the late notice and for any inconvenience.

State Titles 2015

Hi everyone,

The Judo VIC State Titles took place on Sunday, 6 December 2015, and we sent 10 players, who all performed very well, and helped position our club 5th among the clubs competing at the State Titles, and 4th overall for 2015.

The members who participated at the States Titles:

Under 9:
Adam Shkulev – Gold
Jonah Van Grootel – Silver
Yonatan Ayzelman – Silver
Abigail Mayer – Bronze
Arielle Mayer – 5th

Under 12:
Yonatan Anshtein – Gold
Joshua Clarke – Bronze
Kayla Timic – 7th

Under 15:
Tamir Anshtein – 3rd

Cadets:
Ben Ayzelman – Gold

Junior Men:
Ben Ayzelman – Silver

This brings our 2015 competition season to an end with a great momentum into 2016.
2016 is going to be a great year, with Oceania Championship taking place in April in Canberra, and the National Titles in Geelong over the long weekend in June.

All the under 12 and older (and the under 9 that have crossed over) that have competed the State Titles are now able to qualify to the Nationals next year.
JVI has announced they will lower the criteria for qualifying in order to present a large team at the Nationals.
The criteria is State Titles 2015, 50% Squad training attendance and competing in 1 more state tournament.

Well done everyone!

Judokan has a new home!

Hi all,

After 3 years at the same premise, we have outgrown that space, and it is time for Judokan to move to a larger space.

From 3 February 2015, at 6pm, Judokan will hold its sessions at 47 Leopold Street, South Caulfield (entrance from Feodore St). The place offers a much larger space, which will be used for more mats, allowing our players to move more freely and for Judokan to grow its member base even more.

The new location is 1Km away from our old place. You can view a map with direction from to our new place from the old one here
